iiiput
Kudos to the Marlins for fleecing us. We could find a better lefty in a men’s league

GoldGlove21
1 minute ago, Moose Milligan said: Are we already turning on Mayo? Looks that way. I think you have to do something. You can not contribute on offense and people will give you some rope, but when you cannot play adequate defense you are going to stick out like a sore thumb. With that said, we make some of these pitchers look like Tom Seaver.

Did I say you or anyone else was making excuses? I said there were valid reasons he wasn’t up. That’s it. Nothing else. Defense matters. He has talent. Nobody says otherwise. Play the kid in the OF in the spring. I read somewhere that didn't look like a viable option either. No I don't have the quote on hand. Uli2001
3 minutes ago, OsFanSinceThe80s said: It's tough between the electronic strike zone being used at AAA and then relying on the human element to call balls and strikes plus any decent pitcher isn't going to stay in MILB very long these days. I think we have a winner. Pitching has got to be very diluted in MiLB at this time. We are expecting .300 avg's in AAA to translate to MLB (as they did in the past), but that's not the case anymore. We have seen it again and again with the O's prospects. These guys go on a tear at AAA and are utterly unprepared for MLB pitching when they arrive at the club. The talented ones will eventually hit (Cowser, Henderson, Rutschman, Westburg) but even those struggle mightily at first, and have lots of ups and downs. The trick now is to find out who are the ones who will eventually hit consistently at the MLB level, and who are the ones who can only hit AAA pitching. And yet Elias was desperate and now we’re stuck with him for years. Not years of this. Our pitching staff was better than this this time last year. It feels like Elias got complacent about the pitching despite some warning signs and the thinning of the bullpen.
