Kevin Goldstein on Bryce Harper

As someone who does their own scouting, have you ever seen a kid who has tools galore in HS, like Harper, and gets drafted and once finally facing true competition, fails and flops hard. And I dont mean Rowell, him being labeled as having great bat speed, I dont see where this came from.....

And this is why his decision to play JUCO ball next season will benefit him so much. Playing Division I at the NJCAA level will pit Harper against the best JUCO teams around the nation, especially when his team goes to the NJCAA World Series (CSN is a conference powerhouse). If Harper continues his tirade against Division I NJCAA pitching, he will then become just like any other college player coming out as far as risk is concerned.
