Why are we talking about Ortiz for OD 23’? SS - Gunnar 2B - Frazier 3B - Urias Bench SS/COF - Mateo -
As an aside, I wonder how much this trade starts to validate the O's philosophy of taking hitters in the draft. They just turned a 5th rounder into a cost controlled average ML starter and another arm. It's a snippet of what's possible through this approach. Have to wonder what Stowers, Kjerstad, Beavers, Mullins, Hays, Santander, Cowser, Rhodes, Fabian, Haskin end up turning into. -
Well, there's less margin for error when you're not feeling great. My guess is he didn't exactly have a live arm in the last 6ish weeks of last year.

Yep. It could end up a situation like when they traded their third best starting pitching prospect and he still turned out to be really good. Which if it is, it is. I'm not one of those folks that think you have to win every trade. Both sides can do well. -

Well, pick whoever. But there have been so many luke warm prospects folks have held on a pedestal over the years. Hernaiz is better than a good chunk of them, I reckon. -

Which is hilarious given the comments from just a few days ago. -
Dubroff said on 105.7 today that he would be significantly limited. He didn’t clarify by giving an inning count. So who knows…..I think anywhere near 150 is extremely optimistic.
