9th Round - Austin Anderson - Mississippi - 3B

I guess it is all we could do.

Yeah there is still a few guys that have some upside i like. I like Isiah Gillam out of high school in Georgia. J.J. Swartza high school catcher out of Florida. Then another guy i like alot and have seen pitch twice is Ryan Ryder out of Charlotte. He has nice size and has just been converted to a pitcher after his junior year where he was a good hitting prospect. Plus it may help with getting in with the family. His younger brother is actually a better player then him as a sophmore.

I hope there are good risks worth taking at that point.

A few that most acknowledge as very tough signs but good prospects. Others that are tough signs and carry a little more risk, which comes down to scouting and decision making.

They were just talking about how many seniors have been drafted this year it is already as many as the first 15 rounds last season. So looks like a lot of teams using the save money theory. I wonder if this is because this draft was considered so deep that many of the high school guys think it is better to go to college and not sign to improve their status a lot more so they can get more money.

A lot of HS guys had big demands, so teams are saving for the guys they picked in the first 3/4 rounds with a chance to go after backup plans in the teens so savings aren't wasted.
