Pineda struggled down the stretch going 1-4 with a 5.12 ERA in 10 starts. He also benefitted from the spacious Safeco Field, with a 2.92 ERA in 12 starts at home and a 4.40 ERA in 16 games on the road.

That's before he puts the horseshoe hat on his head. He'll probably have 400 strikeouts this year.

And if we had him he would be our number 1 and opening day starter.

Challenge trade. I like what Seattle got more. Suspicious of Pineda because his success was a bit unexpected last year (i.e. many thought he was not quite ready).

I don't think many thought Pineda wasn't ready, so much as a couple of people thought that and a million blogs and writers echoed those thoughts.
