I'd easily rather have Reynolds back at their respective costs. If Reynolds goes back to being a .800ish OPS bat and plays even averagish defense at first, he basically is Adam Laroche. Costing less years, less money, and 4 years younger. I guess it boils down to how you think Reynolds defense plays over an entire season at the position, but as hitters they are very similar.

Our point is you are taking a very small sample size, and extrapolating it into and absolute that could just be variance or just not being familiar with the pitchers.

Pursuing LaRoche seems like a waste of time. He wants to go to the Nats. The Nats want to sign him. He turned down the O's two years ago. He wants to play in the NL where he knows the pitchers.

I get the LaRoche hate if it's an expensive 3 year deal, but as a defensive first baseman and a #5 hitter he's an upgrade.

And I'm not basing that off last year's 31 dingers.

I personally don't see a future with Chris Davis on the team. He doesn't play any position particularly well, and I think the Orioles take huge issue with that.
