Infielder Wilson Betemit resumed baseball-related activities today in Sarasota. He was shut down for a few days because of some soreness.

Orioles designated hitter Wilson Betemit continues to progress very slowly with his right PCL tear, MLB.com reports. Betemit is doing baseball activities "as tolerated" at the moment.

Baltimore does not have an established timetable for Betemit to return. He is definitely out until at least after the All-Star break.

As horrific as his injury looked, there was little doubt in my mind we were looking at much longer than his initial timeline. I was suprised when they said it was a PCL tear since the way it looked, it almost had to be an ACL tear as well. ACL is a year long recovery. Whatever his injury, he certainly does not seem close to coming back which means the Orioles may need to take a look at Urritea as DH against right-handed pitching in the second half.

.302/.357/.502 against righties last year. I don't know much about Henry U., but I think we'd be hard pressed to find someone else who can produce like that.

They didn't say it, but to me, it looks like he is done for the season.

One interesting thing is this:

Since he can't really hit from the right side anyway, I wonder if this causes him to give up switch hitting.

Sometimes these guys that switch hit their whole life, get to better pitching, and they aren't good enough to stay switch hitters.
