It's just frustrating because it's so glaring. You look at guys like Markakis, Davis, Mclouth, Hardy, they tend to be more balanced hitter.s Other guys like Flaherty and Teagarden just can't hit anything regardless. Then you see Machado and Jones and they hammer everything and look like the best hitters in the game at times. Then they slider comes and they look soooo bad.

Manny has a -0.14 wSL/C which basically means he costs the team .14 runs per 100 pitches when sliders are thrown to him. He was 0.85 last year. He's worse against two-seamers (-0.85) and sinkers (-3.12). Just about every hitter has pitches they don't hit well but thankfully, pitchers need other pitches to set them up and Manny hits the hell out of fastballs (3.24), cutters (2.97) and is plus or just about every other pitch. He's fine regardless of the fact that he'll chase a slider for a K occasionally against some good pitchers.
