6/19: Orioles at Tigers

Don Quixote

This is off topic, but I was just watching the Pedro Martinez-Don Zimmer scuffle in the 03 ALCS on youtube. As much as I hate the Red Sox and Yankees, that rivalry was fun to watch when it was white hot in the early to mid 2000's. Most intense rivalry in sports in my opinion.

What kills me about Manfra is that he doesn't let you know what happens right away when describing the action. I have to go by crowd reaction to tell what happened most of the time.

Agree with this. Last week, I was in my car listening to the O's feed and Manfra says (I'm paraphrasing), "And the 1-0 pitch to Flaherty, who is in the lineup today against a lefty because of an injury to Casilla's thumb." And never told the audience what happened on the 1-0 pitch. But because it was RF, I was pretty sure it was either a called strike, a swing and miss, or a weak ground out to second.

There are a host of things that kill me about Manfra. But he's a good dude.

Yep, seems like a really good dude, but on radio, not so much. And, I think the fact that Angel is so good makes him seem worse.
