Garza would be like adding another Tillman. Very valuable, but there's a limit on the contract. If he could be had for around 4/65, I'd look into it. This also assumes Peter starts funding this team.

Unless we're stupidly willing to deal Gausman or Bundy, we obviously don't have the young pitching needed to be in the conversation for Samardzija. The only way I could see it working is by getting a 3rd team involved, with them providing the young pitching the Cubs require for Wieters. Very doubtful, but I guess it could work.

While I'd love to have him of course, I can't imagine any way that we can swing a deal for Samardzija unless we're willing to include Gausman or Bundy and I can't imagine DD would pull the trigger on that.
