Orioles have agreed to terms with OF Tyler Colvin

Why is that a slap at the Orioles? He is saying that the Orioles' physicals aren't impossible to pass - he passed 5 of them. If anything, it is a slap at Balfour.

I read it exactly the opposite way, that having passed 5 O's physicals was a "career accomplishment" (his hashtag). Seemed like he was making fun of the O's process.

32 pages on potentially signing Tyler Colvin. Has this place hit rock bottom?

It has reached rock bottom when it takes 32 pages for someone to declare the Hangout has jumped the shark over a trifling acquisition. Back in the Freddy Bynum days we'd snarkily declare the end of the world three pages into such a discussion.

Well there has been a bit of a "talent drain" over the years.

Tyler Colvin isn't worth 32 pages. The O's becoming a laughingstock and a pariah throughout the league because of Angelos' ridiculous medical evaluation process is worth 32 pages.

If the Yankees signed Tyler Colvin, the first time any Yankee fan would even mention the guy would be at spring training when someone would ask, "Who's that guy out there wearing #59??"

after finding tyler colvin still has back issue, orioles will give him a minors deal but no majors deal. so he remains a FA

Don't disagree, here. Back issues can ruin a guy real quick, and Colvin's simply not enticing enough to take an MLB-contract level risk on.

This sounds reasonable. They gave it a shot, and Colvin undoubtedly understood that the physical was the deciding factor. If it were a make-good minor league deal, there would be no physical requirement.
