Orioles are aggressively looking for backup catcher.

Miguel Olivo would seem like a natural. 34% career CS. I think he's the 3rd catcher on the Dodgers. Actually, he and Drew Butera are sharing catching duties while A.J. Ellis out, BUT Ellis is expected to go on rehab today and be back sometime this week. BINGO!

Just saw him play Sat night. He's solid.

I'd love it but what would he cost? A LOT I would think.

It might be a good idea for them to wait a week to ten days and see exactly what kind of catcher they need before making a move. Sure, beat the bushes and see who is available, but get a better idea of how good a job Clevenger can do. Maybe he can rise to the occasion. Or, maybe they need to replace Wieters for the rest of the season. Right now they don't know. Just going out and ponying up for the best guy available could be the wrong move.

Heyman, but Roch is not exactly a Roch et scientist either.

No, the source of that quote is Roch, he was tweeting AT Heyman.

Then I'd still consider the source. As I said I don't give much credence to Roch either. He's a shill for the warehouse and an inter net tart.

In terms of salary Suzuki is "only" making about 3 mil. What would it cost in terms of

trading players is another matter. Suzuki is the Twins starter.

It doesn’t get less exciting than Kurt Suzuki. From our standpoint, I mean. Pitchers love him, he’s a great guy, calls a good game, but he does nothing for me as a player and I’m guessing he does nothing for you. A fun thing I heard over the weekend: Suzuki is able enough as a receiver, but he’s hurt by his short arms, causing him to stab for pitches he shouldn’t have to stab or reach for. Consider him one of those guys who might be more valuable in real life than he seems to be on his FanGraphs page. Josmil Pinto is the real intrigue here, after hitting his way up the organizational ladder in 2013. The more he plays, the more interesting the Twins will be to non-Twins fans, and also to Twins fans. I should’ve led with “Twins fans”.

He's neither, but he does work for an Orioles based company so if you are looking for hard journalism, he's not your man.
