The Orioles have won their last 3 series openers. Maybe this time they’ll actually win the series? They failed against powerhouses Detroit and San Francisco.

It's also the 4th consecutive series in which the Orioles won one of the first 2 games. They lost the first 3 rubber matches. If they lose tonight, they will try to win yet another of those rubber matches on Thursday. If they win tonight, it will be their first series win since they took 2 out of 3 from the White Sox on April 22nd, 23rd, and 24th ........ although they were prevented from 2 other chances to win series since then, because of rain-outs. They split 2 games against the White Sox and the D-Rays in back-to-back series a month ago without playing the 3rd games of said series, which will be made up at later dates.

Sure enough, the Orioles wound up splitting the first 2 games of the series yet again, for the 4th consecutive time.

That's very mild progress ......... they're losing the rubber matches, but at least they aren't in a position of constantly trying to avoid the sweep.

The Orioles will play in their 5th consecutive rubber match tomorrow ........ it's almost at the point in which you always expect the Orioles to necessarily lose the 2nd game of the series if they win the 1st, and to necessarily win the 2nd game of the series if they lose the 1st.

And after splitting the first 2 games with the Blue Jays, the Orioles will play a 6th consecutive rubber match.

Can they finally win one of these ???

4:05 game time tonight.Looked like an ugly walkathon with over  350  pitches thrown.. Someone should have lit the match tonight.Baseball at it's best with two fine teams. Maybe rain will wash away the stench .

Looks like the worst possible timing, rain-wise.   0-30% 12-3 pm, 40-80% 4-7 pm, clearing by 8 pm.

Tonight's game is at the normal 7:05 start.  Underground was commenting on the LENGTH of last night's game not the start time of tonights.

Thanks for clarifying that.  I thought 4:05 seemed like an odd start time on a weekday, even if they were playing during the day.

Sorry that I was unclear. Typing half asleep at 1 am.But not too clear fully awake either.4:05 for a nine inning game is ridiculous. I think the Orioles time record for nine innings was against the Yankees but not sure how long the game took.

The Red Sox did play at 4 yesterday and a night game today but that was because of the hockey game.
