Nice thread. We can tell that this team is just consistent. They are the exact opposite of streaky. The do not go on 9-game winning streaks as other teams have this season, only to go 4-15 next. They rarely lose series. They are not big on drama. It is okay. I want to win a boring WS.

The consistency is almost mind-boggling. People can complain about the lack of long winning streaks but the lack of any extended losing stretches is amazing.

You know what would be cool? A line chart or something showing this progression vs. other teams. Maybe just the playoff contenders; 30 lines would be kind of a mess. I get the feeling most of the others would track pretty wildly up and down, with the O's line running straight through the middle of them.

95-65 after 160 games, no more ten game stretches to play. I guess 5-5 playing 3-5 bench players every night is the very definition of coasting. So, all year, the Orioles only were under .500 in two ten-game stretches, and even in those they were only 4-6. They really played steady baseball all the way through the year no matter what the circumstances were.
