Duquette has been operating this way since he got here. Complaining about his approach is like complaining about gravity, it's a futile exercise. Just marvel at how it works.

Of course Haren is threatening to retire...

and I don't blame him.. He's a LA boy. I'd retire if I was traded to the East Coast if I spent most of my life on West Coast.. but then again, I would never sign more then a 2 year deal with the O's 30% below market value.

Man it's quiet tonight. I have to say this is the most boring Winter Meetings I can remember. The last few years it always seemed like we were always linked with 1 big name free agent. Of course most of us knew it wouldn't happen but the rumors and talk kept the week entertaining.

Now it's like all of us are convinced nothing big is likely to happen so nobody cares. All we have are those few bashing the team for their lack of activity and others trying to convince everyone that Dans formula of deep depth is all we need again to win the East.

I guess things will pick up in here tomorrow for that all exciting rule 5 draft.

People here should do themselves a favor. Go over to the MASN site and read Steve Mejewski's interview with Dan Duquette. He explains the current Oriole way very specifically and clearly. It really is nothing new. He simply is implementing the plan he proposed when he got hired. AND IT WORKS.

I'm not saying they need to make a big deal and truthfully don't expect it. All in saying is this is a really boring winter meeting.

I miss the years when we had people in here that called themselves insiders that fed all of us with juicy gossip.

And as I said it always seemed like the whole board would be jacked about one of the free agents that just about everyone wanted. Can't remember who it was last year but 2 years ago it was Fielder.

It's a long winter and this week is the last week that I get excited about until spring training. I'm sure I'm not the only one feeling a little blah about this.
