““He played some shortstop for us at a pretty good level until we got J.J. back. He’s capable of swinging the bat better. He’ll get an opportunity,” Showalter said.

“He’s going to have a lot of options available to him now.”

The Orioles tried to trade him, but found no takers. They’ll be responsible of what’s remaining on his salary unless a team signs him. If he signs elsewhere, the Orioles will still pay the bulk of his salary.
