The Boston Red Sox were banned from signing any international players for the next year and had five of their teenage prospects declared free agents on Friday.

And they lost the money they paid 'em.

Sure glad the O's weren't listening when I wondered why teams didn't do exactly what the Red Sox got busted for!

Explains why they traded for Arizona close Brad Ziegler yesterday.

As long as they keep giving up minor league pieces to get guys like Aaron Hill and Ziegler, while not spending that currency on their starting pitching deficiencies, I am happy.
