At the Quarter Pole

- 25-15 record, on pace for a 101-61 season

- 2nd in BA, OBP, SLG, OPS and OPS+

- 4th in runs scored per game, at 4.65

- 1st in homers with 61, on pace for 247

- 4th in fewest runs allowed per game at 3.90, 5th in ERA at 3.70

- Trumbo, Manny and Davis all on pace for 40+ homers and 100+ RBI.

- Tillman on pace for 24 wins.

- Britton, O'Day and Givens all exceeding 10 K/9, with Brach at 9.8.

There's an awful lot to like in the first quarter, and for every guy who's likely to cool off, it seems there's someone else likely to heat up. I'm not expecting 101 wins, but I think we are capable of continuing to play very well.

I would love for this team to win 100 games.

When Trumbo pulls his Houdini act in June-Sept, we'll get a chance to re-think a quick signing.

And if he does hit 40 homeruns this year. Why are you so sure he will pull a

disappearing act in the latter part of the season?

This is his seventh year in the league.

OPS by month.

April- 843

May- 904

June- 676

July- 749

Aug- 728

Sept- 692

He has traditionally been strong out of the gate before tapering off later in the year.

Of course that isn't a guarantee the trend will continue, but I think it is fair to expect some degree of drop off.

There's definitely a trend there, but playing in the East in the muggy summer weather when the ball really carries may counteract it.
