Since I posted this thread in late June, the O's have gone 8-12 on the road to take their overall road record to 22-29.

If we are ever going to have a winning road trip, this would seem to be the best opportunity. Three games with the White Sox (52-56) and then four games with the A's (48-60), who just traded away Rich Hill and Josh Reddick. The road trip ends with three in SanFrancisco, who lead the NL West with a 62-46 record, but they are 5-13 since the all star break and have lost series this year to Boston, Toronto and New York.

We badly need to go at least 6-4 on this trip.

The O's are now 4-4 on this road trip. I was hoping for 6-4 before the trip started, and that's still possible, though a very tough order with Bumgarner and Cueto on the bump for the Giants. I think tonight is the biggest game of the series. Win it and we have a shot at a winning road trip, lose it and we're back on our heels playing defense on Sunday. Go O's!

So we need to win today to muster a .500 road trip.

The interesting thing is that the O's haven't had a truly awful road trip all year. But they keep losing a little more than they win:

3-3

2-4

2-0

4-5

3-4

0-1

4-5

3-4

1-3

4-5 (one more to play)

Drip, drip, drip.

The inability to win road series could eventually be the main reason we didnt make the playoffs. We might yet, but if you dont win consistently enough on the road, the poor play will catch up to you..and it has.

This team was around .500 on the road a few weeks ago. Something has changed with them though...just not a very good team at the moment.

Trumbo, Davis, Schoop, Wieters all forgot how to hit? And the bench isn't doing anything either.

Since the ASB, they're under .500 as a team and averaging something like 3.5 R/G.

Yep. The turn around has been ridiculous, hopefully they can get it back on track at home.

Time to win a whole bunch of home games. 14 of our next 19 games are at home and the other 5 are in DC and New York. Assuming they take a bus to DC and a train to NY, when the plan lands at BWI in the next few hours it will be four weeks until the team boards another one.

And we don't leave the eastern time zone for the rest of the regular season.
