Yes, but there is some weird stuff going on with the guys Dan bought.

In the last two starts (against the Nats and Jays):

Miley has a 3.75 ERA

Jimenez has a 2.45 ERA

And Gallardo has a 3.60 ERA in five August starts if you throw out his one terrible start where he gave up 7 runs.

I don't know if they can continue this kind of pitching through September but if they do and the offense clicks it could be a fun close to the regular season.

Tillman isn't home grown.

Not directly out of his mother's womb.

But the Orioles played a big part in developing him after they acquired him in the Erik Bedard trade.

When Tillman was with the Mariners' organization, the highest level that he pitched at was Advanced-A, and he had one bad season there (20 starts, a 5.26 ERA, and a 1.510 WHIP.)

When Tillman first came here in 2008, he was one of the 4 "AA Boys" (Bergesen, Berken, Tillman, and Hernandez) that anchored an excellent staff at AA-Bowie. Between the 4 of them, they racked up 48 wins and 5 complete games with 3 shutouts in the 5-month season that year.

Unfortunately, I'm not sure we have legit start pitching prospect in the minors above Delmarva. We need Gausman and Bundy to remain healthy. There is no help on the way.

It is a shame Hunter Harvey has had all the injury problems. I am sure DD plan was for him to be ready by next season.

He was much better in high a than the numbers suggest.

You can knock a run and-a-quarter off of his off of his ERA (from 5.26 to 4.00) and a considerable chunk off of his WHIP from 1.510 to 1.275) to take into account the additional surrounding circumstances that he was pitching under in southern California that season in 2007, and it still would not take away from the fact that the Orioles developed Tillman from the AA level to the AAA level to the Majors from 2008 to 2009, and to his 3-plus years of ups and downs between AAA and the Majors from 2009 through 2011 until he finally stuck in July of 2012.

True enough.

Also, he was only in the Mariners organization for ~2 years and ~165 IP.

Before becoming a true mainstay in the rotation from 2012 and beyond, he logged over 400 IP in the O's minor league system spanning 4 years.

We did pick Billy Rowell over him. We also passed over Max Scherzer and Tim Lincicum for Rowell as well. Still having nightmares.

Eight other teams also passed over Scherzer and Lincecum. Only Tampa and the Dodgers hit. Seven of the first nine were disappointments to outright busts. Ancient history. Is there a point to bringing up Billy Rowell?

If you're still having nightmares over that, it's because you want to have nightmares over that.

Billy Rowell was drafted 10 years ago in 2006, Tim Lincecum has not been an elite pitcher since 2011, and the Orioles have not had a losing season since 2011. Scherzer is an elite pitcher that is still in his prime. The Rockies, the Mariners, and the Pirates also missed on him. The Royals could have had him instead of Luke Hochevar.

Your shtick in almost all of your posts is to undermine the franchise in any way that you can, even if it means going out of your way to point out something as trite as the technicality of Chris Tillman not having been drafted by the Orioles (insinuating that we did not develop him), and complaining about a failed 1st-round draft pick from 2006.

The Reds got over trading Frank Robinson. They have won 5 National League Pennants, 3 World Series, and 10 division titles since then. If you can't get over these things, then I really don't know why you bother rooting for the team, since all it seems to do is to bring you misery.
