He should have 2 options left, right?

Throw him in the Tyler Wilson, Mike Wright pile.

He was optioned in 2015 and 2016 so he has one option left.

Probably begins the year at AAA.  He has had more success as a reliever than a starter.  But most of the innings have been as a starter.   O's know him from when they selected him in the Rule 5 draft and then returned him to the Mets.

Wasn't he a rule V pick in 2015? He couldn't have been optioned that year.

Quote

Verrett, 26, was chosen from the Mets at the 2014 Winter Meetings, exposed to waivers in spring training and claimed by the Rangers, who later returned him to his original organization. The Orioles kept their other Rule 5 acquisition, right-hander Jason Garcia, regarded as less polished but having a higher ceiling.

Just now, Number5 said:

Sent back to the Mets.  They optioned him.

O's picked him from the Mets, Rangers claimed him from O's, Rangers returned him to the Mets.

Multi-quote works better than before.

Very good move by the Orioles. Dan did this to save some money. Vance Worley won't be on the team now. Logan should be just as good as Vance if not better. Good move Dan!

I was thinking about the same thing. I think he replaces Worley in an effort to free up some cash for another position.
