Who is your most hated team?

1. Red Sox

2. Yankees

3. Blue Jays

I would hate to see any of them win the Series. Currently the Sox occupy the top spot because of their three championships in the past 15 years. There are some other teams that I vaguely root against, like the Cardinals and Giants, but that's just because I generally root for teams that have had less historical success and not because I have any specific dislike for their players, fans, or franchise.

I like the Nationals. :leaving:

1. Yankees (far and away) 2. Red Sox

I don't really have a strong dislike for any other teams,  I supposed the Jays of late, but that is more of a recent thing.

Kind of feel anyone who says any team other than the Yankees or Red Sox is being a hipster.

I don't really hate any team. It's not in my nature. But the Yankees have won more than their share. Actually, I started watching baseball seriously in 1965 and didn't see the Yankees in the postseason until 1976, so the Yankees sucking is the natural order of things to me. I like it that way. The 80s and early 90s were pretty barren for them as well. I wouldn't at all mind another 10-15 year stretch of mediocrity.

But let me just add that I have enormous respect for the Yankees' history and all the great players who have worn the pinstripes. I just like it better when they're not on top.

I hate the Yankees most now and always, and I'm going to hate them even more two years from now.

Seems like half of MASN is going to one way or the other.  Sitting two years out, I think it is unlikely they get both Harper and Machado, while likely they get one.  I actually feel like Harper's a favorite over Manny to break MASN hearts, but we'll see.  I fear the Red Sox some as a Manny lurker, especially if Devers glove doesn't develop well in the next 2 years.  Cubs will have Bryant, Dodgers are hitched to Turner now, I think Stanton's a cautionary tale against Miami - maybe the Astros are a sleeping giant.

In the category of daydreams, a MASN special joint telecast announcing Machado and Harper extensions, with live look-ins to the Yankee front office, would be brilliant.

Back on point, for a long time the Pirates were way up there for me, but time has healed enough that it is back on the Yankees.

Conventional wisdom says Red Sox and Yankees. Division rivals, big money bogey man...but the Blue Jays are more on the Orioles level of payroll and being left out of the AL east dominance in the recent past. That might make you think I should passively root for them versus the big spenders but quite the opposite. I can't stand the type of attitude that team has. Their ballpark is one of the worst to watch the O's play at. When the Red Sox or Yankees win its kinda like...well anybody can win when you spend that much money. It sucks but it's understandable. Blue Jays just get under my skin, maybe it's mostly Baustista and the guy in the stands with the binoculars. They're my most hated team.

It used to always be the Yankees, but with recent developments with the Sox, Jays and Nationals, who do you dislike the most? Who is the last team you want to see win the World Series?

Yankees. Yankees, Yankees.

Bue Jays. Red Sox.

Nationals.

Royals.

It's getting harder with the recent turnover in personnel, but it's still not a close call. There's still a Steinbrenner in charge, jackasses in the front office, and Girardi. And the fans, with whom I tend to get into it like this:  :pain:

NYY
[Then leave a large space]
Jays
Nats
Anyone who has just beaten the O's, for 24 hours or so

    • I don't want the O's to lose much, but I do want there to be a massive streaming deal with Amazon or some other company the O's are left out of.  This blackout nonsense is bullsh!t. 🤬
    • God said he hates domed stadiums.  I hope everyone in the area who could left.
    • The O's need a #1 pitcher, an ace. I see 3 possibilities: 1.  Sign Sasaki.  Will he even be posted?  Would likely want to go to a west coast team. 2.  Snell.  Chance of injury, but when he is on, he is maybe the best pitcher in the game.  Maybe offer him a 5 year/$200 million deal.  Will that be enough?   3.  Trade for Crochet.  Crochet was maybe the best pitcher in baseball the 1st half of the season.  Lefty w a 99 mph fastball w lots of movement.  If the O's trade for him, they need to sign to an extension.  Can you do that if you haven't signed any players to extensions?  I'm imagining it won't go over to well in the Clubhouse if the O's trade for a player and extend him and don't extend Gunnar and Adley (players aren't looking at aging curves of catchers).
    • Funny thing is, if the O's win, I'm generally so psyched on my way out that I don't even notice all of these annoyances. I'm just happy that the team won. That was my experience a lot this year when the team was doing well. Unfortunately about half of my 13 game season ticket plan was in August and September, plus I got to watch one of the pathetic WC games. You can smooth over a fair bit of fan annoyance with winning, but at the end of the day, someone has to care about the little things and actually invest money to make them better. There's no longer any question about whether the O's will be here to stay. The government and the team are aligned: OPACY and the Orioles are here, and we're going to make the best of what we have, and make it a centerpiece of Baltimore. That's great. But now they have to put their money where their mouths are. Show fans from all walks of life that we are able to reimagine OPACY and the surrounding area in the image of an efficient, clean, 21st century facility, starting with things as basic as infrastructure and plumbing, and ranging as far as parking, public trans, and food at the park. Honestly? I sort-of understood why they weren't investing in anything in the years when (1) the team was bad, and (2) ownership wasn't invested in the team, and (3) the renewal of the lease with the Maryland Stadium Authority was in doubt. The vast majority of points (1), (2) and (3) above are now non-issues, or have been majorly mitigated in the past 2 years. So it's time to make things right. Otherwise why bother with the long-term commitment at all, if you're just going to let the project languish?
