Wow. 1 year, 6.5m guaranteed. A 15m mutual option for 2019. This market is brutal. He turned down the 17.4m qualifying offer and lost. Last year he would have pulled a 6 year deal at 15m per. 

There is a strike coming.

In 2017, however, Moustakas’ average sprint speed ranked in the 7th percentile, and the 9th percentile among third basemen. But while that was happening, Moustakas had slowed down. He was playing worse defense, at least statistically, and the Royals started him 17 times at DH.

Interesting.  Looks like it won't be long before he's relegated to 1B.
