Hardy says he is finally healed and able to still play.

Do we give him a MIL deal, with some incentives, and see if he can still play?

What the worse that can happen, he officially retires from the game?

Where did you see/hear that Hardy wants to play?   I haven’t read a single thing about him this season.

Damn, speed reading, I missed that critical word, not:

Quote

“I’m not closing the door to anything,” he said. “I’m not ready to retire, and right now I’m not ready to play. So I’m kind of stuck in the middle.”

Does a 36 year old oft-injured SS really seem like the direction we should be going with this franchise?

The Brewers just got Gio Gonzalez from the Nationals. I guess he can sit with Schoop.

Assuming that they qualify for it.

The Cardinals are the hottest team in baseball, having gone 24-8 over their last 32 games. They have won 10 consecutive series, dating back to a series that they won against the Cubs on July 27th, 28th, and 29th.

The Dodgers and the Rockies are also right on the Brewers' heels, and the Diamondbacks are currently ahead of those 2 teams in the standings.

It’s like these guys aren’t robots or something. Look at Villar and Beckham’s numbers in these situations,

Villar as an Oriole - .723 OPS vs. a .693 OPS with Milwaukee

Beckham as a SS in 2018- .769 OPS vs. a .578 OPS as a 3B.

SSS and all. Injuries could have a little to do with it as well. But you can see that once players get in positions they are comfortable with they tend to perform better. It’s happening right now with Mancini hitting more not playing the OF.
