Gotta think this means Dwight Smith Jr. makes the team. Although Jackson is starting in LF today so maybe they give him a shot out there to start the season.

Definitely means Smith made it IMO. I liked EYJ but understand the move. Hope he signs on somewhere, maybe Nats will grab em!

Will he necessarily leave the organization?     We have him on a minor league deal.    I’m not sure if he has an opt-out.    Of course, our Norfolk OF is pretty full so there may not be much point in holding on to him.

I would think he is valuable to the O's.   He could be called up if there is an injury and it would allow them to keep Hays, Diaz and Santander in the minors for a while.

Looks like Orioles are giving him a chance to sign with another team first before talking about a minor league assignment.

Wilkerson is far from out of danger of being DFA'd.

Smith is only 26 and has an opportunity to show how much he can help the O's.  He also has options so he can be sent to the minors later and be ready for a call up if injuries hit.
