theocean
Every minute Mike Wright is still on the team isn't an error?
Mayor McCheese
meh. I know I heard a few other stats.. not allowing a SB yet, etc. However, our bullpen...
Moose Milligan
Hopefully they can lead the league in defense or be near the top. That said, I don't think good defense is going to do much to make us forget about how terrible the pitching can be.

Fewer base-runners when they just hit the ball out of the park. I can't imagine there are too many attempts.
Frobby
Per BP, 22nd in Defensive Efficiency. https://legacy.baseballprospectus.com/sortable/index.php?cid=2803350 Per Fangraphs, 2nd in defense, though I’m not sure what that means since UZR hasn’t been compiled yet. In RZR (a measure of range) they’re 28th. https://www.fangraphs.com/leaders.aspx?pos=all&stats=fld&lg=all&qual=0&type=1&season=2019&month=0&season1=2019&ind=0&team=0,ts&rost=0&age=0&filter=&players=0&sort=14,d Long and short, errors aren’t a great measure of how good a defense is, but I’m glad to see us playing relatively error-free ball. How good the defense is overall is difficult to say at this early stage.

At this point I'm comfortable saying that judging off the eye test, we are better than last year. Mancini still isn't good enough in the OF though. OldNewGuy
The Orioles pitchers, who are part of the defense, I think, have made 23 errors.
mdbdotcom
So, if we move the fielders to the other side of the fence, we'll be all set.
OsEatAlEast
Well the path of least resistance is to get guys who throw ground balls. It may sound simplistic but it is probably the fastest way back to respectability. Although it seems that even if the O's get a guy with over 50% gb rate. He will automatically start giving up more fly balls as soon as he puts on the O's uniform.

I've never seen a shortstop boot a strike out.
