Did anyone else notice Bundy having to stop one of his warmup pitches and say "damn it"?  Masn didnt show the reason he had to abort the pitch, but it looked to me he was pissed that whole inning.  I wonder if he had some issue with Sisco... ??

Like what, he caught him cheating at hearts before the game?

They have been battery mates before.

Bundy knows he can throw whatever he wants.

Some people put a lot of emphasis on the stolen base regardless of how little it affects the game. Buck says hello.

The stolen base is important. Buck was constantly talking about pitcher’s time to plate because it was the only stat he understood, haha.

But throwing out 3 of 17 is really bad. I won’t care so much if the offense compensates, but it would be easier to compensate if the D were a bit better.

I just rewound it.

Bundy slipped or stumbled the pitch before. Then the next pitch he said GD. Makes me wonder if he tweaked something.

The stolen base isn't very important at all.  Attempts are the lowest they have been in decades and they just don't impact scoring all that much.

Varitek allowed over 100 stolen bases in a season three different times.  Nobody cared.

He started off pretty strong last year then fell off a cliff.  Was an odd year.  Something happened.

I heard Ross Grimsley on a radio show awhile ago basically say he was having mental issues. I think his confidence was shot.

Buck may not of been a good fit for him.

    • No but he hits a homer in almost every other park yesterday and he seems to be the guy on the team that does a great job of shortening his swing when needed. He didn’t try to over swing on his base hit yesterday.
    • I don't think you're going to get your wish, but I hope you're right.  Its very clearly an approach issue vs a talent issue.  What we of course can't know is what is being told to these guys, and how well they are executing what they're being told.  But the results pretty much speak for themselves - limp dick offense = lame duck hitting coach in most cases.
    • Mounty is 2-4 with a double vs Lugo. I agree. I’m sticking with him. I like Kjerstad a lot but this may not be the best situation for him.
    • You're right, Westburg seems like a guy who can because you don't see him throwing things or being emotional on the field. Obviously it's a small sample size, but so far he has not come through very much in post season.
    • Fully agree.  Putting up a couple runs by the end of the third inning would make a world of difference for these guys - and for Eflin. When they finally kind of broke out last week in game 1 vs NYY, the scratched across a run in the 2nd, and another in the 4th.  Something like that needs to happen again.  It was O'hearn w/ the big two-out, opposite field single to get the second run home in that fourth inning, after Kjerstad had an RBI ground out (what a concept - productive out!!).  Someone will need to come through in such a situation again to get it going.  I don't think I'd ever been happier to see an RBI ground ball than that one last Tuesday, LOL.
    • I’m starting Mountcastle over Kjerstad. His defense at 1B is important and I don’t think Kjerstad provides much of an upgrade with the bat, if at all. They both chase a ton but Mountcastle hits the ball harder and whiffs less.
    • When you're hitting philosophy is upper cut hack at anything close so if you hit it you can do damage, there is going to be days when the pitcher doesn't make that many mistakes and these days will happen. Add in that this team does not hit well in pressure situations anyways, and you have recipe for what happened yesterday. If the Orioles don't fire all of their hitting coaches and strategists after the season then I will begin to question the leadership of this organization to get this team to the next level.
