Apparently Severino is sick.

 

The corresponding move was made on Wednesday night when Tayler Scott was optioned.

Quick edit wasn't quick enough. Severino is sick, so this is likely temporary.

Apparently it was a very last minute call, so not even garunteed he will be there before the game.

Before I saw Severino was sick, I was confused. Happy, but confused.

$3000 a day while he’s up.   I’m sure he’s happy no matter how short the stay.

Well, I thought we had seen the last of Austin, and I am glad that he’s back up. I hope he gets a chance to play.

Meanwhile, does anybody else think that the injured list isn’t being used enough? I don’t think it’s a good idea to let somebody be sick for 4-5 days And take up a roster spot that is very important. Just put them on the I L. He’s sick, let him be away for 7 days and call up somebody else.

Indeed. He probably has enough service time to qualify for the pension, and he gets healthcare for life after only one day in the bigs, so now it’s just earning the money. And like the song says $3000 a day is “nice work if you can get it”

Well, earlier in the season I would complain about Scott, the known quantity, getting the call instead of anyone else. Now I shrug my shoulders.
