How about the idea that Hyde is DHing a right handed catcher against a right hander over Davis?

And Pena';s career splits:   .879 OPS allowed vs LH, .567 vs RH.

Wow.   That says a lot that Davis is not in the lineup.   And it says that Dwight Smith isn't healthy enough to play (he left last night with a sore calf).   Bet he goes on the DL.   They probably couldn't get someone to Anaheim in time to replace him for a day game.

Hi all!

Got a question about defensive stats: I was looking up Santander at Fangraphs, and he has -1 DRS each in LF and in CF, +6 DRS in RF, where he has most of his innings, but his dWAR is -1.7.

His UZR/150 is minus 29 in LF, but +28 in RF, in 60 additional innings. The RF success should cancel out the LF problems, especially considering the additional innings. His arm strength is negative in each position, but I'm not sure why his dWAR is so bad.

He looks good out there, but stats exist for a reason. What is causing such a poor overall defensive showing?

Yesterday the Rays led 9-2, but the Blue Jays came back to tie with 4 in the bottom of the 9th and won 10-9 in extra innings.

Today the Jays led 8-1 into the 6th but it's now 9-9 in the 8th.
