Maybe Detroit is clearing space for the Rule 5.  I'm pretty sure Diplan has been claimed off waivers a few times.  He didn't even make it past the first available team this time.

Wouldn't be so sure about that. Hasn't made it past any teams in his previous two DFA attempts!

In 2018, MLB pipeline had him as a grade 45 prospect.  He just turned 23 in September, and has appeared in 50 games in AA across 3 seasons.  Over a K/IP.
