Which minor leaguers get invited to O's ST

Other then the 40 man roster.    Here is my guess.

Catchers: Rutschman,  Holaday, Martin Cervenka, Davis

Pitchers:  Baumann, Shepherd, Valdez, Lowther, Hunter Cervenka, Zastryzny, Rodgers

Outfielders:  Williams,  Diaz

Infielders: Herrera, Bannon

Didn't Nichting get some run as a fill in minor league guy last ST? I guess he doesn't warrant a full on invite. 

Could see guys like Blach and Eshelman get an invite. 

McCoy? Jomar Reyes?

Mullins will get an invite too, I suspect. Hard to believe he was the starting CF and leadoff hitter on Opening Day last year.

EDIT: He's on the 40 man. Nevermind.

Can't tell if serious or this was some kind of slipped in joke to see if we were paying attention.

I could see McCoy getting an invite but they very well may just bring him over when needed. I think Wells may get an invite as well.

I’d like for Wells to get an invite.    I won’t be surprised if he doesn’t, keeping in mind that Akin didn’t get one last year after being the Eastern League pitcher of the year.   The same could apply to Lowther and Baumann, but I suspect they’re more likely than Wells to be invited.

Wells and Zimmerman strikes me as the kind of guys that have to earn everything they get.    Wells is the 20th prospect on Orioles.com and Zimmerman is not in the top 30.  With the pitchers I have listed there will be 27 pitchers in camp.    I don't think they get an invite but I could be wrong.

I do think with a good first half at AAA both those pitchers have a chance to be called up in the 2nd half.

Haha, unfortunately, no, I just didn't bother to do the research. For some reason I thought he was in AA already and had better numbers. I feel like he maybe got a look as a minor league camp guy last year, but I could be wrong.

I think he came over for a couple of games when they needed some players, but he wasn't on an official invite. If it were me, I'd put him on the mound and see if he can be converted to a pitcher. He has a pretty special arm.

I wonder if they haven't tried it due to questions/issues with maturity and composure?

For what it’s worth, last year there were 20 non-roster invitees, 8 of whom were pitchers.   I’m not sure how many pitchers were on the 40-man at the time.

Also worth noting: last year, of the 8 pitchers who were non-roster invitees, 6 had prior major league experience.    The only two who didn’t were Kremer and Pop, neither of whom had pitched above AA.   As it turned out, Kremer missed spring training with an oblique injury and Pop only had a couple of appearances before heading off to TJ surgery.
