On this day in 1970 the Baltimore Orioles lost to the New York Yankees by a score of 4-2.

Frank Robinson (1 for 3) and Boog Powell (2 for 4) scored the Orioles 2 runs.

Jim Hardin lasted just 2,2 innings in his start; he surrendered all 4 Yankees runs (3 earned) on 7 hits while striking out 2.  Marcelino Lopez (4.1 IP) and Pete Richert (1.0 IP) stymied the Yankees the rest of the way but the Birds came up short.
