Ah, I remember this one well.

O's were actively shopping Tejada after he went to the media with an unexpected trade request/demand/whatever in December 05.

Cubs had interest, but wouldn't swap Prior for Tejada straight up. Hendry said he'd need a starter back in that deal. Hence the addition of Bedard for Hill and Patterson.

Yep, that was definitely a good non-trade for the O's.
