Wade LeBlanc -Rotation Contender

I have considered LeBlanc a fringe entry in the starter competition, but he put up two scoreless against a decent Braves lineup.  That performance kind of says "Beat This".    There is a long way to go but LeBlanc is in the competition for now.

The other thing that happened in the game is that the guy I thought would get waived to open space on the 40 man rotation - Ashton Goudeau - also put up two scoreless.   It was against minor leaguers in the 8th and 9th, but he can only pitch where Hyde put him in.     Have to wait and see how this turns out.

Waiting for Goudeau will probably not end well.

I hadn’t considered LeBlanc to be a likely Cy Young candidate, but now I do.

If they go with a 6 man rotation, which I expect them to do, he will be in it.

Holt says a 6 man rotation messes with the starters effectiveness. Too long between starts.

Leblanc was already a rotation contender and still is.

He may not be wrong although since we have never really had 6 man rotations, I’m not sure you can definitively say that.

Hyde won’t close the door on it and has stressed that he needs a lot of guys to throw a lot of innings.  They may not do it but they may also have de facto 6th and 7th starters.  Guys that will pitch 3-4 innings twice a week.

Leblanc was already a rotation contender and still is. 

I'm genuinely interested to see how Harvey looks on Friday. Not that I care too much about the results themselves, rather I would like to see if he looks comfortable pitching in general, how his stuff is playing, any mechanical changes, etc.

EDIT - I guess I won't be able to see how he looks because we aren't slated for a TV broadcast until Sunday

I never didn’t consider him a contender to get a spot. Seems like a wide open free-for- all, no? 
 

The day we stop speculating about Wade Leblanc’s spot in the rotation is the day I’ll know the rebuild is over.

Well, I think Zimmermann is back in play(haha pun). 
I think the powers have already decided what they expect, they decided what they want, and they’re waiting to see if anybody forces a change in plans.

I think the sixth starter will be multiple pitchers with options that can move up and down on the shuttle, as needed.

Not really anything to do with LeBlanc's future with the Orioles, but I can't figure out how he could get a win for pitching two innings as a starter. Was there a rule change for spring games?
