If they played him at designated hitter they would not have to suffer his terrible defense. They would have to suffer Ryan Mckenna’s terrible offense, But that would probably be a good trade off. And Mckenna is bound to get some hits eventually

It's not "terrible" and that would just clog up DH and give Hyde ZERO flexibility.
