Valaika and Urias are Titanic deck chairs. I expect Jahmai Jones and Rylan Bannon to be fighting for time at 2B this summer. 

I'm a little surprised. Valaika seemed decently useful. Is Ruiz better than him either offensively or defensively? I don't think so. The one thing Rio has going for him is being lefty but he still doesn't hit RHP. Maybe it will be Jahmai or Bannon sooner rather than later? Would make more sense to me than DJ.

Also using Jahmai or Bannon would give some infield depth. That’s a lot of outfielders with Stewart, McKenna, Santander, Mullins, and Mountcastle on a 3 man bench.

I had that thought too - I suppose Rio competitive with them if he can truly climb the defensive spectrum at this late age, but I give the younger guys more of a chance to become bench contributors down the line, or maybe even hold off Westburg/Vavra a bit.

I am not impressed with Bannon's defense at 2B or 3B.   Jones has decent range at 2B but I am not sure if his hands are good enough to not commit at lot of errors.  Both have things to prove at AAA.

Maybe day to day, but it’s not like Stewart is the answer out there. Until Hays is back I expect DJ and RMC to split time out there, maybe McKenna mixing in, but more of a late replacement.

I haven't seen enough of Stewart in the OF to know how good he is. So thats a decision for Hyde.

Stewart. But that is also like asking which one bites softer: a crocodile or an alligator.

That really isn't close, the Croc has a significantly stronger bite.
