He's got a very short, compact left-handed swing that generates good power to all fields. Seems to have a nice idea of the strike zone and doesn't looked overmatched by offspeed pitches. I need to see him more against upper velocity, but it's hard not to be impressed with his bat.
Defensively, he's short for a first baseman (listed generously at 6 ft) and doesn't look like he has a lot of quickness over there, but I haven't seen anything that makes me think he can't play there effectively.
There’s no earned the right in the playoffs. He earned the right to get himself together at the end of the season. He hasn’t done that (.535 OPS the last 30 games). You play the guys who give you the best chance to win (Mounty at 1B and Kjerstad at DH)
@Frobby this is a good watch. Whatever your thoughts and opinions are on Jomboy, idk. I think he does a good job pointing out Adley’s issues receiving.
Take it FWIW.
So if McCann gets us more calls than Adley then I’ll take that in the playoffs.
McCann’s Catching + Adley hitting better as a DH > Adley Carching + whatever we get from DH in O’Hearn/Mounty/Kjerstad. JMO.
I understand what you're saying. I just believe that the team that went 49-25 didn't exist after a certain date. You're referencing a team that was totally transformed by the IL.
