I haven't been following his promotion closely. Can anyone explain why they waited until end of June? Does that have to do with Super 2? I assume he didn't just take his performance to a new level in the last month...

I’m not sure..they probably will say they wanted him to get more experience since he is only 20 years old.

End of the day, super 2 probably had something to do with it and they were playing very well and hadn’t really needed him.  Once they trade Adames, that started to open the door.  
 

They also may have wanted him to play third some down in the minors, since he is going to play there some (a lot?) this season.

I mean, the guy did skip AA entirely, so 7 weeks of AAA is hardly a lengthy stay.  They probably could have brought him up a couple of weeks sooner and still been pretty safe on Super 2.

Rays have been in a slump since losing Glasnow.  Doesn't effect service time.  Wanted a jolt.  Got one.  Stoked he's been on my bench for 2 years in my AL only Dynasty league.
