I would enjoy getting to know (and none of us save Luke perhaps wlll) just how small a sample size our models deem actionable.

Like....Heston Kjerstad spit on three consecutive edge pitches, and hit one >95 fastball over 110 mph....slide that magnet on up to #4 overall.    Wait, he did it again this weekend....better make that #2.

Haha. Interestingly, Pavolony, the 7th round pick had the opposite career track. He was on all kinds of watch lists going into this season but had a rather disappointing season which is why he was available in the 7th round.

Must have been his homer and double in Tennessee's super regional against LSU that got him back on the Orioles radar!

At this point, do we think the team will spend all of its pool? If Cowser is underslot and with the two “senior signs,” I’m wondering if there’s any talent left that would get them there. I can’t imagine that Taylor, Montgomery, etc. would sign at this point.

If you pay enough money, they will probably sign.

Yes, I am person who has well reasoned thoughts and opinions and am posting them for discussion on a message board that is built for discussion.

You are a sheep..a pathetic follower who is to ignorant to have an opinion that differs from them.   You be you and have fun with it.

And btw, the dumb theory that I am laughing at is YOUR THEORY.  Nothing that Elias or Sid have said.  So, I am not saying I am smarter than them.  I am saying your theory is ridiculous and for you to think that they are just stock piling mediocre OFers because we can trade them later is the height of nonsense.

I bet you also think we can just pick up a bunch of FAs on cheap deals in the offseason, put them on the team and then trade them at the deadline because teams are pining for those guys?

Easy with the personal attacks Rob. We can all have differing opinions without resorting to getting personal.

Pavolony had a hand injury early in the year. His stats were climbing after that but stayed suppressed comparatively. Might turn out to be a pretty good pick.

As I said, you can get these types of guys all the time, in any of the early rounds.

You might be right, but I tend to think that Elias disagrees.

We'll get the orange colored perspective on all of these guys fed to us over the next hours/days. We'll begin to better understand what they think they got and why they took them. The general consensus will become more favorable.

I'm certain that Elias isn't picking guys because he thinks they're dime a dozen guys though. That's not how this works.

No, he is picking guys he likes but there isn’t a shortage of 2nd-8th round college OFers with some tools that carry upside.  That’s not some rare commodity.  The Kyle Stowers of the world are always available.

People aren’t knocking down the door for them because they all have them.

Part of this process does include signing guys that are projected to be organizational filler.

He has rosters to fill.
