I doubt they go into a complete rebuild.  They have a owner that will spend. Are in a division that is easier to win than the AL East.   I think they reload.  They are just clearing some money off the books.

How many guys did they trade that weren't free agents after this year anyway?

Trea Turner -- under team control through next year

That's IT.   So anyone they traded, they were either going to lose or re-sign after the season anyway, and they can still theoretically re-sign those people.

If you look beyond this year, they gave up nothing but one year of Trea Turner.

Cardinals trade John Gant to the Twins for Happ.   One shitty pitcher for another.   But it gets them off the list.  Phillies get the 2 Ps from Texas.

So the list is now down to:

Balt, LAA, Colo, SF
