Elias expects hitting to be good and pitching to struggle

Just like it would have been foolish to overreact to sweeping Boston to go 3-0 last year, it would be equally foolish to overreact to one series this year. Mountcastle is seeing the ball well. Santander is seeing the ball well. Mancini, Mullins and Hays got on base a couple of times each today. Urias and Mateo look like they can contribute. Catcher and Odor/Gutierrez are empty holes in the lineup and that situation will hopefully resolve itself sooner rather than later.

And the pitching issue?

I guess the question really is:

How will this team perform with Rutschman catching, Rodriguez and Hall in the rotation?  I think those guys will certainly help but won't be enough to make a huge difference- maybe we win 60 games instead of 50?

While we have a number of other intriguing prospects, I'm not sure any of them are really that close to the majors.  We can what Stowers does and Neustrom (off to a good start)...   I think Mayo, Westburg, Henderson are still a full year or more away...

When is Hall in the rotation, 2024?
