O's have the best offense in the AL to begin May

Right now it might be a miscalibrated scale as xwOBA I believe thinks a batted ball at 102 mph and 30 degree launch angle is probably a HR and batted balls like that are becoming Outs a lot these days, but FWIW

Today xwOBA sees the BAL offense 16th MLB-wide (actual wOBA 22nd).

Today xwOBA sees the BAL pitching 28th MLB-wide (actual wOBA 22nd, there perhaps with an assist from tall walls and/or the 2022 baseball).    Spenser Watkins, Paul Fry, Travis Lakins and worse have thrown just over 20% of the Team Innings while Better Pitchers are figuring out how to stay up when they get up.

Fielding team OAA 29th, still very near MLB-worst.

Just like Elias said, the hitting should be okay but we know we're short on pitching :)

The O's are 5-3 in May.  A .625 win percentage.

The Os had the highest winning percentage in the majors yesterday, and over the last two games as well.

It’s nice that we had a good week.  Let me know where things stand at the end of May.   That’s a sample that’s worth paying some attention to, especially since we have to play 19 games in 18 days starting with last Sunday’s doubleheader.

Right.

This thread is certainly fine, but listening to the radio all I think of is that people need to pump the brakes.

We are better than we've been. We're also more fun, and next week hopefully we get another major promotion. It's positive. Certainly more so than the Rangers with their Semien ($175 million) and Seagar  ($325 million) purchases.

Tigers now are 8-20 and record is only a few games better then the Reds  Least runs scored and homers. Three of their better starters are out. Pitching ERA is actually slightly better then the Orioles. I know the Tigers don't have the best offense. Month of May have scored 14 runs and shut out last two games.
