Actually, he's added more horizontal movement and a little less vertical to his curveball making it less of a 12-6 curveball going from 8.6 inches to 11.3 this year. He also throws it just 11.2% of the time vs 27.2% (2nd most of his pitches) when he first arrived. On top of it, since it's his 4th pitch, he's throwing it over more for strikes as a get me over since batters aren't looking for it.
The biggest improvement to his repertoire is his changeup, which was terrible in the minor league
I wouldn’t be embarrassed but they should. There is no point in a team playing this bad to be in the playoffs. I would rather have a higher draft pick. If by some miracle they got hot in the next week great. I feel bad for the young fans who have never seen the Os in a WS.
Obviously Hyde has shown his limitations this season. Steam comes out of my ears when I watch his post-game interviews. Always sounds like he is giving everyone a pass and an excuse. He does not sound like an inspiring manager and his on-field moves seem orchestrated out of desperation and lack of confidence. I’d be pissed as a player too if everyone always got a pass for incompetent play. If you’ve ever played sports you know what I mean.
