His at bat today vs Romano in the 9th was exquisite.

I know I've seen it enough to recognize that it happens a lot. Just an incredible eye.

He has to drive the pitchers nuts.  It’s therapeutic watching him do that.  It’s like his way of saying F U.

I loved watching that at bat today and it makes me believe he is going to be something special. On the other hand it is so upsetting when he is so patient and does that and then Santander swings at the first two pitches and flies out to end the game. I cant wait until we can get some more talent around AR to take better advantage of his skills.

I agree, it has to drive them nuts. To get 0-2 and then to lose a hitter is painful.

He doesn’t give up on at bat. Anyone else in the lineup gets 0-2, it’s pretty much over. With Adley, it seems like it’s just getting started.

Gunnar is great but Adley has him on the plate discipline.

Depends how you’re measuring it.  Adley only swings at 24.0% of pitches outside the strike zone, but Gunnar’s been even better, at 22.6%.   However, Adley has a 13.6% walk rate, Gunnar is at 6.5%.

He’s been down 0-2 in 66 PA.   He’s walked 4 times, and been hit by a pitch twice.  He’s batted .217/.288/.300 after being down 0-2.  He’s struck out 25 times, or 38% of the time he’s been down 0-2.

To put that in some perspective, the average hitter hits .162/.190/.242 after being down 0-2, and strikes out 45% of the time.  The walk rate is 2.5%, compared to Adley’s 6.1%.

Also important: the average hitter gets into an 0-2 count 21.3% of the time.  Adley’s in an 0-2 count 16.6% of the time.

FRobby with the win! Thank you, sir.
