Orioles changing their food vendor

Delaware North is out. Levy Restuarants  is new vendor.

Levy must have been willing to sign a one-year contract.

Levy is the vendor for the Dodgers and Cubs.

In theory this should be a good thing. I thought the quality of the food in recent years has gone down noticeably.

Has to be a rough environment for them.  Food prices are pretty viotile.

Food almost always sucks and of course it’s incredibly overpriced. (Which you expect but it would be nice if the food was good when you are paying it)

I have never really understood why they just can’t some of the little things to make the food better.

It won't drive attendance.

Just have a few signature items and mail it in.

Rated the best but by who? 

They asked John Angelos why if  it was rated the best then why would you change it?  He responded today saying how dare you ask that question on National Popcorn Day. I would be  happy to discuss it and open a bag  of  peanuts but not on a national food day.

Hopefully this was in the works for awhile because most of the managers jobs are 30 days old or less and some are out yesterday. Need time to do a transition like this without problems. About 76 days from opening day.

I don’t know of anyone who thinks it has been better in recent years. Perhaps a handful of individual items are better. 
 

Speaking of John, if had any clue or quite frankly cared he would hold a press conference next week. I doubt he has the spine to do it.

I wonder if this impacts the soft drink vendor at all? The other year they dropped Coke for Pepsi. Considering it was under Delaware North I would assume no. Also, I keep forgetting about the SportsBook that is being added. That’s another question for John.

One more thing.

The Orioles have always been known to get things done sooner than later…. Just like when Ben McDonald announced he was back last week. I recall how Thorne said 2 years ago he didn’t know until January when he would be back. Why not tell the man shortly after the season? 
 

Seems completely inline with how they operate.

I thought betting hurts the poor and disadvantaged more. I thought he was so worried about these groups ,so why put a Sportsbook at the stadium? I know most people at the stadium are not in this socio economic class.

Also, the top rated food selections mentioned there are from Boogs, Harris Creek and Stuggy's. Were they even under the purview of Delaware North?
