Adley beat Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Randy Arozarena. That's all that matters to me. Beat the AL East rivals!

Betts' BP pitcher took forever to throw him the ball.  I don't think he would have gotten more than another 3 or 4 but it couldn't have helped.

I guess he hit 31 last year.  His game power isn't this big for sure.

They use hot balls for the derby.

If they use them to get Judge the HR record you know they will use them in the Derby.

3rd place overall in the first round for Adley. Lame format, but a great memory for him (and us).

I mean, there's a lot of guys with huge in-game power that he's just completely lapping for the derby.

 

I think part of it is that he has more endurance than they do to swing for the fences 60 times in 4 minutes.  That's not really an applicable game skill.  He didn't get gassed like everyone else did.  Guerrero hit some monster shots but had trouble getting it over the fence toward the end of his run.

 

I think Adley switching to the right side was partially to engage muscles that weren't tired.  (and also to stunt on everyone by hitting from both sides at the derby.)

His pitcher should get the trophy. Guy was like a robot hitting the sweet spot EVER pitch rapid fire no leg kick. I credit J Rod for his stamina but I think ANY of these guys would have hit 30 minimum with that pitcher.
