For those who constantly fear the other shoes about to drop, some advice. Take a moment and enjoy this. It’s quite remarkable that we’ve gotten here, and what happens next, while it matters obviously, won’t for me diminish how great this feels in the moment. Being a fan is filled with great moments that aren’t championships.

In other words, just Don’t forget to stop and smell the FIRST PLACE ROSES folks.

Especially because it's first place near the end of July. I don't think anyone expected this, this year.

I thought they would be good, but not this good. I was honestly hoping for a real look at the young guys like Ortiz/Cowser/Westburg, etc, but then they started playing really good ball and you can't carry all the young guys through their struggles if you have a legit chance to win.

The Rays injuries have caught up to them and the Os have been playing good ball this month.

Can you give a brief summary of what injuries they have had to deal with?  I dont pay attention to other teams much at all.

Very good advice.  I was filled with angst on the last two games we lost against the Dodgers.  A more realistic person would realize we were playing well as a team and it wasnt the end of the world.

Want to know what the best thing about catching the Rays is?

They cant go wire to wire now.   They lost the lead.  They can still win it but they will never be able to say they went wire to wire.

best thing about catching the Rays,is that we caught the Rays..maybe its for a day, a week, or for the rest of the season...but we caught them...and frankly its  a great credit to the construction of this team and the architects..we aren't an elite team yet, I dont think...but we are getting there...

When you look at the organization from top to bottom the Orioles peak is probably about three years from now, but they're already good enough today to contend for the AL East title.
