BAl did what they needed to do. CLE could be eliminated early in BAL series. Fascinating race for ALW and WC spots. All 4 teams very inconsistent. TOR plays TB 6 times which has chance to help BAL. TEX plays SEA 7 times. HOU plays @SEA and @ARZ last week. Ton of great head to head matchups down stretch. NYY and BOS could be spoilers.

Tiebreakers

TOR over HOU

TEX over TOR

SEA over TOR

TEX currently 5-1 over SEA

The way MLB has formatted the playoffs is  truly awful and needs a quick change this off-season. The two best teams all season, by a wide margin, are gonna be forced into an ALDS match up because they’re in the same division. They should be resting up and getting byes in the first round.

Interestingly enough, Toronto is tied for the third best record now.

Real simple. Abolish divisions. Balanced schedule. Take the best 6 or 8 or however many teams. Seed them by record. Re-seed each round. Boom! Done!

If the Jays make the playoffs their will be a very good chance that they get the 2nd wild card as they will have to beat the Rays a few times to get in.  If that happens then the two teams will play in the Wild card round and face off against each other 3 more times.  They could play 9 games against each other in less then 2 weeks.

BAL magic # is 3

TEX magic # is 5

Tiebreakers

TOR over HOU

TEX over TOR

SEA over TOR

SEA hosts HOU for 3 games. Huge series to say the least. SEA wins tiebreak. SEA/HOU control destiny.  Looks like one of 2 miss.

TOR in good shape. They are guaranteed to pick up 2 games on one of SEA/HOU.
Good chance TB/TOR finIsh reg season playing each other and then playoffs back in TB.
