Recently I saw a Brian Kenny breakdown of the Padres malaise that went kind of like their typical loss involves their Stars getting them an early game lead, and then lack of depth and un-baseball-y plays cost them.

Hader is extremely well rested tonight so I wouldn't be surprised to see him in the 8th if needed.
