Because Orioles, as this "3B/OF" advances to Aberdeen for the Elias Official taste of the next level, he finishes Delmarva with more games at 2B than anywhere else.

Anyone can play middle infield - tell 'em how easy it is Wash.

I was listening to an interview with Aram Leighton, prospect guru of the “Just Baseball” podcast, and he was asked who in the O’s organization might emerge as a top prospect in 2024, and he singled out Horvath.

Couple of home runs tonight in his Aberdeen opener, and a quick 3.417 OPS lead on Enrique Bradfield.

Maybe doesn't seem too cavernous to him tonight, but helping him it is about 100 degrees.

The first home run wasn't heat-aided at all, that one was an absolute bomb. Almost cleared the clubhouse in left field.

Horvath played 3B his sophomore year but OF his junior year.  It sounded like he was drafted as a RF who might be able to handle CF.  However, he’s started 8 games each at 2B and 3B and only 2 in RF.   Looks like his immediate future might be infield.

Why would you say that? I believe with Santander, Mullins, Hays have less of a chance to be here long term than our infield. Urias is Arb 1 and the rest of the infield is not even close to Arbitration.

I'm under the impression that he played where the team needed him. Versatile kid, but probably played OF because there were better infielders, not because he couldn't play infield.

I've found it interesting how much second base he's played so far. I need to go back and watch some plays to get an idea of how he's doing there and at 3B.

From an org build perspective, your points are valid.  But he's not making projections; he's reporting the news/weather. 

Either way, I suspect they are prioritizing his IF reps just to maximize his value through positional flexibility.  The floor as an OFer is already there.

2023 MLB Draft picks off to hot starts - nothing new but Horvath is getting the spotlight from the MLB Pipeline crew representing the O's.

I’m pretty enthused about Horvath.  He may have been a steal at no. 53.
